Parametric model maker: keychains, signs, boxes, vases and QR plates

Depthue Studio's parametric model maker builds six ready-made parts from settings in millimetres: a keychain, a sign, a box with lid, a vase, a QR code plate and a gear. Change a number and the part rebuilds as one closed solid, which you can keep editing with every other tool before you export STL or 3MF.

Free in your browser, no card. Files stay on your device until you save to the cloud.

The short answer

  • Six parts from settings: keychain, sign, box with lid, vase, QR code plate and involute gear.
  • Text parts use 17 bundled fonts, raised or engraved, and every part rebuilds as one closed solid when a number changes.
  • Parts stay editable: add holes, text, textures or booleans on top, then export STL, 3MF with colours, OBJ or PLY.
Keychain
Up to 24 characters; rounded, pill, circle, dog tag or heart plate; 10 to 60 mm high, 2 to 8 mm thick; raised or engraved letters; rim; ring hole 2 to 8 mm
Sign
Up to three lines of 40 characters; letters 4 to 100 mm; rounded or oval plate that follows the text; raised or engraved; two or four mounting holes; optional frame rim
Box with lid
Sized from the inside, 10 to 300 mm each way; wall and floor 0.8 to 6 mm; slip or inset lid with a clearance up to 1 mm; finger notch; box, lid or both
Vase
Classic, bulb, flare, hourglass, straight or bowl profile; 40 to 400 mm tall; twist up to 720°; up to 64 ribs; wall 0 for slicer vase mode
QR code plate
Up to 500 characters of URL, text or Wi-Fi string; error correction L, M, Q or H; module 0.6 to 4 mm; raised, engraved or flush for a two colour print
Gear
Involute spur or ring gear, 6 to 200 teeth; see the gear generator
Fonts
17 bundled fonts: condensed, slab, rounded, script, stencil, pixel, comic, western, techno and more

How to make a part from settings

  1. 1

    Pick a part

Add, then Keychain, Sign, Box with lid, Vase, QR code plate or Gear. It lands on the build plate with sensible defaults.

  2. 2

    Type the settings

Text, font, size in mm, thickness, holes. The inspector lists every setting with its unit and range.

  3. 3

    Edit like any solid

Stack operations on top: emboss a logo, add a magnet hole, a surface texture or a base plate.

  4. 4

    Export

Export STL for any slicer, or 3MF with colours to keep a two colour QR plate or sign as separate parts.

Six parts, all closed solids

Each part is built by code on Studio's geometry engine, so it always comes out as one closed solid (or, for a box with its lid or a flush QR code, two shells side by side). There is no mesh to repair before slicing. A setting that cannot be built, such as more content than one QR code can hold, comes back as a plain message instead of a broken file.

Text that stays exact

Keychains and signs draw their letters from bundled fonts, never from AI. What you type is what prints. The font list covers condensed, heavy sans, rounded, slab, roman capitals, script, comic, horror, western, stencil (including a bridged stencil for cut signs), techno and pixel styles.

Settings first, then everything else

A part is a starting point. Because it sits in the same scene as everything else, you can add a hole for a magnet, emboss a second line of text with the STL editor operations, cut a pattern through a box lid, or check the print estimate before you slice.

For a one-off file without opening the workspace, the free text to STL and QR code to STL tools make a single part in the browser.

Questions

What is a parametric model maker?

A tool that builds a 3D model from settings instead of from a drawing. You type the text, the size and the options, and the model rebuilds itself. Depthue Studio has six such parts, and a scripted part for writing your own.

How do I make a custom keychain to 3D print?

Open the keychain part, type up to 24 characters, pick a font and a plate shape, and set the height and thickness in mm. The width follows the text unless you fix it. Export the STL, or a 3MF with colours for a two colour print.

Can I make a two colour QR code or sign?

Yes. Set the QR code to Flush and the modules become a second shell at plate height. Export a 3MF with colours and assign a filament to each part in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer.

How do I size a box so things fit inside?

The box is sized from the inside. Type the inner width, depth and height of what it must hold; the wall and floor are added outside. A slip lid gets the clearance you set on each side, 0.3 mm by default.

Do the parts work with vase mode?

Yes. Set the vase wall to 0 and it becomes a solid body. Turn on vase (spiral) mode in your slicer and it prints the single wall itself.

Is it free?

Yes. Every part, every setting and every export is free and runs in your browser, with no credits.
